Meet the Flecher Jones Creative Marketing Team
Meet the faces behind our Marketing Department! From left to right: Samar Karkar, Bryan Gonzalez, Lynae de Leon, Jody Henslin, Repair Bear, Rex de Leon, and Rebecca Rice
Lynae de Leon was born and raised in Castro Valley, California, a small town in the Bay Area. Lynae attended UC Irvine where she received her BA in Sociology. Here at Fletcher Jones, Lynae is our Corporate Marketing Consultant who oversees the fixed operations marketing for the 17 Fletcher Jones’ locations. What motivates her to come to work every morning is the fast-paced environment, always taking on new challenges and the fact that the company is always evolving by promoting constant growth and opportunity. Outside of work, Lynae enjoys finding new restaurants and attending various sporting events in the area. Lynae loves to stay busy all the time, so most of her free time is spent coaching her dance team, Ontario Fury. As for cars, her 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 is her favorite car, but she loves the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class too.
Jody Henslin is originally from Pismo Beach, but moved to Long Beach for college. Jody attended Cypress College, where she obtained her degree in Advertising Design and Art. She transferred to Cal State Fullerton for her BFA in Graphic Design. Jody’s primary position at Fletcher Jones is the Graphic Designer, but she is also involved in print and web design, social media, video, marketing, and more. Her favorite part about coming to work is when she gets to see the final result of her projects such as event creative, print brochures, etc. In her free time outside of work, she enjoys doing anything that allows her to spend time with her frenchie, like gardening, visiting local dog parks, or browsing the farmer’s market. She is also pursuing a side project that she is developing to create digital paintings of pet portraits. She can also be found spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking. When we asked Jody what is her favorite car is, she said “I have always been a fan of the Audi TT, too bad I am too tall to fit in it.”
Rex de Leon is our Internet Development & Website Coordinator, who maintains and updates the Southern California based websites, and coordinates our digital advertising efforts. In addition, he also consults for the rest of the Fletcher Jones locations when it comes to digital marketing. Rex is originally from Yorba Linda, who later moved to Irvine to enroll at UC Irvine where he obtained his undergrad in Studio Arts and minor in Digital Arts. His favorite part about working for FJ is seeing his favorite vehicles on a daily basis and working with talented individuals. Outside of work, he enjoys all activities that involve the beach and trying out new restaurants. Rex’s favorite car is the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG® Coupe, Black Series.
Rebecca Rice is originally from Hermosa Beach, California. Rebecca is our Corporate Social Media & Marketing Coordinator; she is responsible for directly overseeing the social media efforts for Fletcher Jones Motorcars, Audi Beverly Hills, Mercedes-Benz of Ontario, and Mercedes-Benz of Temecula. She also consults for the 17 Fletcher Jones locations and oversees social media growth. Rebecca attended Chapman University where she received her BA in Advertising and Public Relations. After graduating, she decided to further diversify her skill-set by taking additional courses at Art Center in Pasadena for Design and UCLA for Coding and Website Construction. Her favorite aspect of her position is having the opportunity to take on new challenges in a diverse environment. She also loves having the opportunity to take the beautiful cars off-site to photograph for our social media pages. In her free time, Rebecca is an outdoor junkie with a passion for traveling, yoga, hiking, and mountain biking. Rebecca’s favorite vehicle is the brand new 2016 Mercedes-AMG® GT S.
Bryan Gonzalez grew up in Laguna Hills, California. Bryan is our BDC Photographer who is responsible for virtually showcasing Mercedes-Benz vehicles onto our website for sales purposes. His favorite aspect of coming to work is knowing that he has a place to grow and expand his work. He feels fortunate for his position, and plans to take full advantage of the opportunities that Fletcher Jones Motorcars has to offer. Photography has been his passion and lately his categories of shooting outside of work have been Landscapes and Portraits. Also, he admits that his favorite car is not a Benz… that honor goes to his 1990 and 1997 Mazda Miatas.
Samar Karkar, Marketing/Website Coordinator, is the newest addition to our marketing team. She is originally from Saudi Arabia/Syria, and moved from Dubai to California two years ago. Samar did her undergrad in BFA, Computer Graphics, and recently got her MBA degree from Concordia University Irvine. Samar said that she enjoys coming to work every day because of the nice environment and having the opportunity to share her ideas with the rest of her team. Outside of work Samar enjoys reading, traveling, swimming, and food (eating not cooking!). Her favorite Mercedes-Benz vehicle is Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG®!
Repair Bear is one of the most important members in the Marketing Department. He is originally from the Fletcher Jones Motorcars Parts Department, but has worked his way up to our Bayview office, where he shares a desk with our Graphic Designer. When asked how he felt about being the only one to share a desk, he just left it at the Graphic Designer was okay as long as she kept the candy jar full. Repair Bear attended the School of Hard Knox where he learned his sensible fashion skills and street smarts. He has also completed courses for his Mercedes-Benz Master Certification. Some call him the boss’s boss, but his peers see him see him more as the marketing model and face of social media. While he pretty much lives here, his favorite part about work is when vendors send over samples of cupcakes, cookies, burgers, pizza, anything edible, really. His hobbies include just about anything Mercedes-Benz and keeping up his stud muffin good looks. His favorite car was the Mercedes-Benz SLS, but right now he is digging the new GTS. He has not been allowed to drive one yet because of a previous incident involving cookie crumbs and chocolate paw prints.
