Our team of dealerships is ready to help you find an electric vehicle that'll help you upgrade every adventure. Modern EVs come packed full of features and deliver quick charging times, so you can take on every drive with confidence. But, in addition to the technological advancements of an electric vehicle, did you know that most EVs also qualify for tax credits and rebates?
Depending on the exact vehicle you're choosing and the local area that you're in, you may be able to take advantage of additional savings through tax credits and rebates. Today, we're going to touch on the EV tax credits in CA, LV, & IL, so you can determine if you're ready to upgrade to an electric vehicle with Fletcher Jones Automotive Group.
Depending on your area, you may qualify for EV tax credits. We suggest you speak with our professionals for details on if the vehicle you're opting for qualifies for electric vehicle tax credits. While there are many different programs depending on your local area, here are some popular tax credit and rebate programs for California, Las Vegas, and Illinois:
California Air Resources Board Electric Vehicle Grants: Income-qualifying individuals purchasing/leasing a new/pre-owned EV may be eligible for grants of up to $5,000 and a $2,500 grant for the purchase/installation of a Level 2 EV charging station.
Clean Vehicle Rebate Project: Income-qualifying individuals purchasing/leasing a light-duty electric vehicle may be eligible for a $2,000 rebate based on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Pacific Gas & Electric Pre-Owned EV Rebate: PG&E residential customers may be eligible for a rebate of up to $1,000 for the purchase of a pre-owned vehicle. Low-income residential customers may qualify for a rebate of up to $4,000.
Nevada Energy Electric Vehicle Rebate: Low-income Nevada Energy customers are eligible for a $2,500 rebate for the purchase of a new/used electric vehicle.
Illinois Environmental Protection Agency EV Rebate: Eligible residents purchasing/leasing a new/used electric vehicle may be eligible for a rebate of $1,500.
If your local area doesn't qualify for any EV tax credits at the state level, you may still be eligible for the federal EV tax credit. Most new EVs may qualify for a credit of up to $7,500 as long as the vehicle manufacturer hasn't sold more than 200,000 eligible electric vehicles. Here are some stipulations of the federal EV tax credit:
Must be at least 2 years old
Priced under $25,000
Sold by a car dealership
Eligibility is dependent upon income caps
